21st Century Learning: Challenges and Opportunities for Diversifying Whom, How and What We Teach Date: April 7, 2022 Time: 9:30 am to 12:00 pm Via Zoom Members of the community are invited to attend the Senate-sponsored planning forum on Thursday, 7 April at 9:30am – 12:00pm to discuss pursuing inclusive excellence within our curriculum and teaching in view of the innovations in pedagogy that have advanced our physical and virtual capacity for learning. It is an opportunity to examine the role of both in-person learning and on-line learning in delivering York’s mission. It offers a venue to share advantages and disadvantages that emerged through virtual delivery of programming that had been designed for in person learning, and to begin discussions about how these insights might best inform our course and program delivery in the future. This year’s planning forum is a 2.5-hour virtual session that includes two components: a panel discussion at the outset on key topics of the theme and small break-out group discussions that rely heavily on audience participation. Three framing questions will guide the small group discussions. Using interactive polling, participants will provide feedback following the focused discussion groups to facilitate the identification of main ideas.
