The York University President’s Research Excellence Award recognizes senior established, full-time, active faculty members at the rank of Professor, with distinguished scholarly achievements who have had a notable impact on their field(s) and made a significant contribution to advancing the University’s international reputation for research excellence while significantly and positively contributing to one or more aspects of the York community’s intellectual life. The 2026-2027 Award is open to researchers in Disciplinary Cluster 2: Social Sciences, Arts & Design, Humanities, Business, Law and Education. Nomination Deadline: Wednesday, December 16, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
The nominee must be at the rank of Professor and must agree to have their name put forward for this award.

Nominators may either a) fill out the form fields below, or b) upload a separate nomination letter along with support letters and refer to the letter in the form fields. The Awards Committee ranks nominations based on the extent to which the nominee meets the nomination criteria.
