President’s Research Impact Award (PRIA) Nomination Form - 2025-2026

The York University President’s Research Impact Award recognizes full-time, active faculty members whose body of research or scholarship has translated into a notable impact on communities, individuals, public policies or practice beyond academe, or translated successfully into impactful commercial or other applications, while significantly and positively contributing to the University’s research culture and reputation.

NOMINEE INFORMATION

This award is inclusive of all individuals and research teams headed by individuals with tenure-stream appointments at York. Nominees must have been appointed at York for at least five years. NOTE: “Nominee” refers to an individual or a team leader.

The nominee must agree to have their name put forward for this award.

NOMINATION CRITERIA

The Awards Committee ranks nominations based on the extent to which the nominee meets the nomination criteria. The nominee’s achievements must be documented to demonstrate their fulfillment of the following general requirements:
1. The body of research and scholarship should have a notable impact on communities, individuals, public policies or practice beyond academe, or have been translated successfully into impactful commercial or other applications
2. The nomination should include details of the research impact directly linked to the nominee’s or research team’s research and scholarship
EXAMPLES

Nominees must have demonstrated their leadership not only as outstanding researchers, but also as notable contributors to York’s intellectual community. Examples may include, but are not limited to:
1. Active engagement with community groups, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations
2. Research results have affected policy or practice within companies, organizations, government
3. Active engagement in commercialization activities
4. Active engagement in knowledge mobilization activities
5. Visible presence in electronic media
8. Additional information that might be relevant to the nomination (optional)
