A Distinguished Research Professorship is awarded to a member of the faculty who has made outstanding contributions to the University through Research. Upon retirement, a Distinguished Research Professor will be named Distinguished Research Professor Emerit. Recipients are honoured at Convocation. Nomination Deadline: Friday, March 6, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
The nominee must agree to have their name put forward for this award.
This is the name of the person (faculty member or graduate student holding a teaching assistantshiip) that you wish to nominate.
The Awards Committee ranks nominations based on the extent to which the nominee meets the nomination criteria. The Distinguished Research Professor will have demonstrated scholarly achievement by sustained publication or other recognized and accepted demonstrations of sustained authoritative contributions to scholarship. Such achievement fulfils the following requirements:
Any current or emeritus tenure-stream faculty member is welcome to nominate a colleague from any department or Faculty at York.
