The University Professorship is awarded to a member of the faculty whom the University recognizes for his or her scholarship, teaching and particularly participation in University life or contribution to the University as a community. Upon retirement, a University Professor will be named University Professor Emeritus/a. Recipients are honoured at Convocation. Nomination Deadline: Friday, March 1, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
The nominee must agree to have their name put forward for this award.

The Awards Committee ranks nominations based on the extent to which the nominee meets the nomination criteria. A University Professor will be a long-serving tenured faculty member who has demonstrated a commitment to participation in University life and/or contribution to the University as a community, as well as appropriate levels of scholarship and teaching success. Such achievement fulfills the following requirements:
Any current or emeritus tenure-stream faculty member is welcome to nominate a colleague from any department or Faculty at York.
